DARKDATA

This is DARKDATA, a surreal-ish horror Forged in the Dark game by Sophie Morgan.

Content Warning ! :

All-caps text, repeating phrases, cannibalism, death, blood, gore, body horror, torture, emotional manipulation / gaslighting, murder, drugs, war, brainwashing, suicide, self-harm, psychological torture...

...and probably a lot more I'm forgetting. In short, this is not a game you can play with kids. (All of these things, except the blood which appears in artwork, are limited to text descriptions.)

DARKDATA is about a group of outcast criminals facing the darkest aspects of their city in 2011, in a very strange fantasy world.

24 years ago, grey clouds blocked out the sky, and everything except the small city of Travail-Tuer disappeared, leaving it alone in a vast expanse of ocean. Since then, Travail-Tuer has become a corrupt capitalist hellscape, with people divided into social castes and ruled by 16 callous CEOs, and one apathetic ruler who doesn't seem to care for ruling.

With most of the world gone, and sunlight near non-existent, nearly all plants and animals have gone extinct. People have to take iodine supplements every day for the radiation in the air, and there's something wrong with the ocean, even if nobody can say what...

Even between the three Suits (sapient species) combined, the population of the city is low. Crime rates are high, and birth rates close to zero. Corruption runs rampant in the system.

Unbeknownst to your Array, there are greater things here to fear than the consequences of your crimes.  Your own repressed desires personified, four otherworldly dreads, or the cruelty of normal people.
